There are two professional ways to achieve an alluring white smile. The first is an in-chair procedure that takes a little over an hour and can whiten your teeth in just the one appointment. Compared to the take-home procedure where you will achieve similar results, but over two weeks if using it nightly. During the in-chair procedure, the gel is applied to your teeth and activated by a special developed light. The gel may need to be re-applied two or three times during your appointment. The take home kit contains the same whitening gel as the in-chair procedure – just not as strong. You will be made custom-made trays just for your teeth for the perfect fit. This will allow maximum contact with your tooth enamel whilst protecting your gums. They are worn for a certain amount of time – mainly overnight for convenience. Many of our patients prefer the take-home procedure as they can lighten their smile in the comfort and privacy of their own home, at times to suit their schedule. If choosing the in-chair procedure you will need to stabilse the shade with a take-home treatment as well.
